     IN TODAY's economic climate, just about everybody is looking for bargains. Unfortunately, most of the time, the sweet taste of the low price is cut short by the acrid bitterness of a shoddy product, usually as it falls apart before your eyes. This is why we are very pleased to present our new line of BARGAIN rings to you-where the word bargain is defined as "QUALITY AT A DISCOUNT".

     In the previous blog entry, we talked a little about one of the all-silver items; the FOOTPRINTS ring. Now I'd like to look at one of our STERLING SILVER and GEMSTONE offerings-the one we're calling the EAST/WEST STYLE.

     With simple lines and an unostentatious presentation, these rings rely on the beauty of their gemstones to make their presence known. The STERLING SILVER setting is composed of a basic band with a sizeable oval landing for its star player. The gemstones themselves are wonderfully symmetrical CABOCHON-style. For the most part, they appear to be of fine quality, and we've done our best to bring you good representative images of the grain and coloration in the photos. For any of you who seek specific stones for your reperitoire, we have quite a field to choose from-including (but not necessarily limited to) AMETHYST, CITRINE, RUBY, MOONSTONE, PERIDOT, CARNELLIAN and TIGERS EYE. We struggle a bit with the pricing, but are doing the best we can to keep them low-and so far nothing is over $18 (I think there's only one or two at this level), and most are actually a lot closer to $10! 

     These rings are all up and available now, and are listed as follows:

     OF THE NEWS RING STYLES, the first one to be listed was the "FOOTPRINTS" Ring in Sterling Silver. It also has the most to say.

     IT is a simple flat band, highly polished; with the image of a footprint path deeply embossed in the metal. To give good contrast, the image has been coated in black oxide. It has become an icon for the "Right To Life" movement; resembling as it does the short, chubby black-ink footprint of an infant taken right after birth. One can also see it as a reminder of the single set of "Footprints in the Sand" made famous by the poem and mid-1960's narrative recording.

      As we hold to both of these thoughts, you can consider it as either-that's fine with us. Either way, wearing this ring is a statement of the love that GOD has for us all. 

          WITH THE ECONOMIC TURMOIL swirling around us today, probably the last thing on anyones' mind is buying new jewelry...but then again, withVALENTINE's DAY right around the corner...

          We are pleased to present to you several new styles of solitaire rings-with REAL NATURAL GEMSTONES, in STERLING SILVER SETTINGS- at prices that will make you wonder if they aren't in error. I promise you, my friends; they're the real deal, at the real price.

          Some of the ring settings are quite unique; such as the one we are calling "The Button"; which acts as a framework for beautifully faceted oval gems. There is also the verrrry eye-catching "Teardrop East-West".      Rummaging around yard, garage and estate sales sometimes yields unexpected benefits. One such blessing has been in the finding of an assortment of rather old "souvenir" pieces gathered by folks during long-forgotten vacations or business trips to Mexico, Cuba and other once-exotic destinations. Many of these pieces exhibit a quality in both materials and craftsmanship that today would put them in the realm of lower-eschelon offerings by TIFFANY and the like-but 'way back then were purposed merely to grab the losse change from your pocket.   

Two such items are our "Flamingo" and "Burro" pins we've just listed on eBaY. A wonderfully crafted pair; they're both like peeking thru a window onto the tourist trade in pre-WWII Mexico. Obviously mass-produced, but yet displaying a wonderful detail in both the casting and finishing. The silver itself is such a gorgeous mirror luster (hard to come by today in lower cost items), that one just knows it's more than just sterling silver! The use of a small piece of GREEN TURQUOISE for the eyes is the master stroke that sets these apart from hundreds of other souvenir pieces.

This was such a stunning find for us, we had to open a new department in our store to house the items! We now have jewelry in real 92.5% Sterling Silver, and some with real gemstones in a large variety, at incredibly low prices! Like - rings under $11.00 low. I think that's really low.
