Arctic Cat, Arctic Enterprises Inc., made several styles of dress jackets for their Arctic Wear winter fashion line of clothing. The Elite jacket was one of them. Styled for good looks, the Elite jacket had the same tough 400 denier tight-weave nylon shell that many of the snowmobile suits had. The insulation was the Dacron® 88 Polyester, same as the snowmobile suits. The liners for the Arctic Cat 3-in-1 snowmobile suit jackets can be worn alone as a light weight jacket themselves. Some of them were a plain, single color with just a name and the Arctic Cat "Cat Head" on them. Others were a little fancier. One of them was the 1993 ZR LTD jacket liner. The yoke and arms have iridescent ribbed checker board squares and the jacket seems to change hues depending on the lighting. Very cool! It is much fancier than the standard zip-out liner, and I believe it will zip into any of the 3-in-1 Arctic Cat, Arctic Wear snowmobile suit jackets of the same size going backwards and forwards for a few years (21" zipper). The Arctic Cat Pantera helmets and the special order custom name helmets were the only ones I believe with the snowmobile scene on them. The one I have listed on eBay later this morning is an 1979 model year. It is an open face metal flake helmet with the "Pantera" name graphics and the snowmobile scene on the back. It is in better condition than most I have seen. With a little bit of fixing up it would make a good one to wear if it conforms to safety standards where you live. I originally had this 1991 Arctic Cat Special jacket listed alone on eBay. I found a zip-out liner and premium snowpants that came with it. It is well worn but not worn out. The suit has been cleaned and is ready for some more serious ditch banging. Arctic Cat was also number one when it came to the quality of their winter snowmobiling clothing and their seasonal fashions. This 1972 EXT one-piece Arctic Wear snowmobile suit was the top of the line suit for many years and followed the "Arctic Purple" theme used in 1971. The 1970 Arctic Snow-Suit sizing was the same for the guys and the gals. The sizes were by number and weight. XX was the largest size (240-260 lbs) then the numbers went from 1 down to 7. 1 being 200-240 lbs, and 7 being 60-80 lbs. The children's coverall suits were sized by age. 8B 8-10 years, 6B 6-7 years, 4B 3-5 years. ~~~~ I have two 1970 vintage Arctic Cat coverall snow suits listed at eBay right now, a men's size 5 and this woman's size 6.
