Vintage Arctic Cat, Ski-Doo, Polaris, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Sno-Jet, Scorpion, John Deere, etc. snowmobile clothing, whether full one piece suits, jackets, coats, bibs, etc. take a little common sense care. Some items may be a little more fragile than others. Many vintage and current clothing manufactures use a water proofing material on the inside and liners of outdoor clothing. This also acts as a wind proofer. One should always try to follow the manufacturer's washing instructions when possible. Sometimes labels are missing or unreadible so here is a simple guideline. If unsure-wash in cold, using a mild detergent. You may use stain removers, but test it out on an inconspicuous spot first. NEVER use HOT WATER! You can damage the water proofing material, cause your garment to fade excessively, shrink, and distort. I bought a pair of Arctic Cat Sno Pro Racing bibs from a racer. The bibs had been washed in hot water and the Gore-Tex inside of the legs and pockets had actually fused together! I made the mistake of washing one of the first Yamaha snowmobiling jackets I purchased in hot water.....The water proofing material flaked off on the inside of the jacket's shell material. The see through white material looked like it had black spots everywhere from the remaining patches of waterproofing material on the inside. Live and learn! As far as drying, again, follow the manufacturer's instructions if available. If not, dry using a warm or delicate setting. Dry until just damp and then finish by hanging on a rust free hanger, or lay flat for sweaters and other items that can distort by hanging. Take extra caution when washing and drying items with ornate attachments. Two piece Vintage Arctic Cat belt buckles with the Cat Head are a good example. The Cat head on that portion of the buckle can get stuck inside the washer or dryer and actually break off. I know this from experience! You can take them off and re-sew them on the belt, or try to secure them to the belt so they aren't flopping around loosely. I never use chlorine bleach.
