Landsman, or who goes by the name of “mrbreeze” is a husband and a father of three. Who has been riding for over 40 years. He heads up legislative efforts for the Washington chapter of ABATE (American Bikers for Awareness, Training, and Education), a motorcyclist advocacy group, Landsman works to fight negative assumptions about riders. HB 2511 Addresses the issue of motorcycle profiling by the Washington State Patrol.
We also are not included in the safety of riding on our highways. Road Hazards like those ruts down the middle of highway 12 for an example, can really be a road hazard for any biker. Cruising down the road, enjoying a nice ride. When you approach someone driving only 35 in a 55, and you go to pass. The ruts that the state purposely puts in the center of the yellow lines, pulls you and causes you to hesitate. This is very dangerous for any rider, experienced or a newbie.
You would think the State would be a little more considerate of motorcyclist. After all they are the ones promoting the “green movement.” Motorcycles are way more efficient than those luxurious suv you see the State employees driving. While the motorcycle community pays for the road fees through there share of tabs and license fees. You don’t see a bicycler paying to their share. In some cases the State even dedicates a bicycle lane. At the tax payers expense.
