A new sourcing channel is opening up for online sellers looking for brand name merchandise at sub-retail prices.

uBid.com Holdings Inc. announced it will launch RedTag.com, a fixed-price marketplace for liquidation and surplus inventory. The new site, slated to debut August 29, will compete directly with online liquidation merchants like Overstock.com.

To stand out from its entrenched competitors, RedTag.com will offer a money-back satisfaction guarantee and a flat ground-shipping rate of $1.95.

RedTag.com will operate separately from uBid.com, an online liquidator of brand name computers, electronics, jewelry and other everyday products. uBid.com primarily uses an auction format, but also offers "buy it now" deals. Fixed-price listings will be migrated to RedTag.com, the company said.
