eBay's Best Match search results will consider handling times, expedited shipping, return policies and free shipping "well" into the New Year, the marketplace announced.
In October, eBay promised sellers a higher ranking in search results during the holidays if they offered free shipping, one-day handling, expedited or a one-day shipping service option, and a 14-day or longer return policy. Now, the marketplace notes, Best Match will consider these factors in 2012.
According to eBay General Announcements, shoppers want these services most, and many sellers added them to their listings during the holidays to gain a higher ranking in search and a discount on final value fees.
They "saw the benefits," so Best Match will continue to consider these factors in 2012, eBay notes.
"If you added these services for the holidays, keep it up," the announcement states. "If you don't currently offer them, add them to your new and current listings so you, too, can reap the rewards in 2012."
eBay didn't say whether it will continue discounting final value fees for including these services, as it did during the holiday selling season.
