Auctiva has launched the first video of a new how-to series that will show online sellers how to improve their images, packing procedures and marketing efforts to take their sales to the next level.
The video "How to Make a Low Budget Lightbox," debuted on Auctiva's YouTube channel. Auctiva will introduce at least four more videos covering topics like packaging and shipping items, business branding, shipping insurance and warranties, and using social media to increase traffic to online stores and listings, according to Steve Swim, Auctiva's interactive media coordinator.
"This series explores the other parts of selling online that aren't specific to how to use our software," Swim says. "We have always worked to support small, independent businesses. By providing more resources to our customers, we're hoping to help them be more successful in their online endeavors."
Sometimes being visual is a lot more effective than providing users with a written tutorial
The next video will feature tips and tricks for packaging and shipping items, he adds.
The team began with the lightbox video because of the "instant value it can provide," Swim explains. "Giving somebody the tools to take professional product shots without needing to be a photographer helps them set their listings apart. I think any seller who takes their own pictures can benefit greatly from this video.
"When you're looking at listings on eBay or other e-commerce sites, it's not the good photos you notice, but the bad ones," he continues. "With big retail stores setting the standard for quality images, customers' expectations are high, whether they're conscious of it or not."
Auctiva experts, including in-house Top-rated Seller and Auctiva Product Analyst Rebecca Miller helped choose the topics for the videos, noting how helpful they could be.
"Sometimes being visual is a lot more effective than providing users with a written tutorial," Miller says.
